About Subworkflow

This is a team that has already shipped AI to production.

Subworkflow is an AI-enabled software development studio based in London. Founded in 2023 and incoporated in 2025, we are veteran industry experts embracing AI to its fullest.

Why we exist

AI made building cheap. It made shipping harder.

Anyone can produce a working prototype now. The scarce skill moved somewhere else: to the judgment about what's worth building, and to the last-mile engineering that turns a demo into something a customer can depend on.

Subworkflow exists to explore that shift. We're an AI software development studio: we use AI to build software, and we build software that uses AI. Both halves keep teaching us the same lesson. The prototype was the easy part.

So we work in the open: shipping our own products, embedding with teams who need to move now, and writing down what we learn along the way. The goal isn't to predict where AI development goes. It's to build there first.

How we work

Four principles we don't bend on.

01

Ship it, don't demo it

A working prototype is a smaller achievement than it feels. We finish the unglamorous last mile: auth, cost control, observability, rollback. That is the work that lets a stranger depend on it.

02

The people who scope it ship it

No hand-offs, no re-learning tax. The same people who scope the work write the code and stay until it is launched and measured.

03

AI-native, judgment-led

We use AI at every step of the build. The judgment about what's worth building stays human. Enthusiasm is not the same as demand.

04

Leave a team that can carry it

We hand over a product your people can run and extend, and the habits that keep it shippable long after we have gone.

The studio

Small on purpose. We embrace agents to increase our output.

The rest of the studioNon-human
  • @scoutScoping & discovery

Reads the brief, then reads it again for the part you actually meant.

  • @forgePrototype → production

Turns the working demo into the thing a stranger can rely on.

  • @sentinelObservability & cost

Watches the token bill so the launch never surprises anyone.

  • @probeQA & adversarial testing

Tries to break it before your users get the chance.

  • @quillDocs & handover

Writes the runbook your team will actually open.

Always on. Every one of them still needs a human to decide what's worth building.

“We move in weeks, not quarters, because nobody has to re-learn the problem to make the next decision.
